We had spectacular trail ride this last Sunday. A perfect day !! The weather was great, the horses were all happy, and the company was FUN. We took 2 1/2 hours going up the mountain, and it just kept getting better , the sun rose through the trees and the breeze played with our hair, the stream sang such pretty melodies, keeping beat with the hoofs and then, we saw a deer, the next corner had apasture or 4 running and playing horses and ---then ---it gets better, someone was doing a "burn" and it smelled so good !!! I'm a hopeless horse/nature romantic and N Carolina is feeding all my fantasies. So you want to hear the rest ? We got to the top of the mountain, washed the horses, put away the tack, sat down to a sandwich lunch and then went for a walk to pick fresh peaches and check on the grape vines. ---- and then ----it gets even better ----I crashed in the hamock listening to all the sounds and feeling the sun ( not burning) on my body. Oh PS thats Shellsea on the left --- I took pic ---so I can't be in there.
I never know when to really listen to the forcasters. I keep thinking I will outsmart them.
So when they didn't tramatise the North Carolina views -- I knew they were wrong, for sure we would get flooded and loose our electric ---so I prepared . Nothing happened. We had a normal fall feeling day, the rain came and went and sometimes the sun came out, a little wind and blowing leaves. It was actually a beautiful day for indoor chores and running around.
